The Future of Ford Bridgend

6 June, 2019 | News

It has been reported that an announcement will be made today on the proposed closure of Ford’s Bridgend engine plant. Ford Europe and bosses from the United States are due to meet union leaders in Essex this morning (06/06/2019).

This news has come just a few months after Ford announced there would be significant job cuts caused by the end of production for the Jaguar Land Rover Engines in 2020 which involves half of the workforce.

The expected redundancies would be a large blow for the local community with the plant currently employing around 1,700 people. With Future Asset Management being located next to the plant, this one is close to home.

If you are affected by these redundancy’s the Money Advice service provides free and impartial money advice and can be found at

As a local team of financial planners we would also like to offer assistance at this time. As a Ford employee we will offer a free meeting to discuss any concerns you may have about areas such as your redundancy pay or your pensions.
